Worked explanation

Correct: D

The passage says the electric telegraph was 'capable of operating day and night in almost any weather' — D captures the same idea (round-the-clock operation, largely weather-proof) without repeating the passage's exact wording.

A — unsupported

The passage describes how the relay line was funded (jointly, by the treasury and merchants) but never says anything about how the electric telegraph was funded.

B — reverses the passage's point

The telegraph is presented as an improvement precisely because it could operate 'day and night in almost any weather', unlike the relay line, which fog, rain, and smoke could halt for hours or days.

C — a detail-swap

The eight-kilometre station spacing belongs to the relay line, which needed unbroken sightlines between towers. The passage never describes the telegraph's infrastructure this way, and an electric telegraph does not depend on line-of-sight.

What's in the free trial, and will I be charged?

A fixed set of practice questions across all four subtests, in the full exam-replica player. No card, no end date, and nothing is ever charged unless you choose a plan.

Is it a subscription?

No. Every plan is a single payment for that period of access. Nothing renews and no card is kept on file.

What's the difference between the two plans?

Length, and the game layer. Both include the full question bank, every mock exam, worked explanations and full progress tracking. A cohort plan runs until 30 September of the year you sit and adds emailed progress reports, streaks, your neuron, quests and leagues. The 1-month plan runs a month from purchase without them.

Are the questions copied from the real exam?

No. Every question is written from scratch for MyelinMed. We go through the official UCAT practice content to work out the styles and patterns the real exam uses, then write our own questions to match. We copy none of its content, and we have no access to real exam questions.

How close are the mocks to the real thing?

Same four sections, same order, same timings, and the clock cannot be paused. You get raw marks and percentages per section rather than a converted 300–900 score, because that conversion is the Consortium's and guessing at it would mislead you.

How does the referral discount work?

What if I defer, or sit again the following year?

A cohort plan covers one sitting year and can't be moved to another. Nothing is deleted when access ends, so if you sit in a later year you can buy that year's plan and carry on with your history and progress intact.
